I went out for lunchtime/afternoon drinks on Friday just gone. Un-used to four pints in the sun on *any* day, I followed it up with a lovely afternoon snooze. All well and good, but my body clock has been thrown so far out of whack, I still think it's Sunday! I bloody love being retired!

Brit, funny-ish, a bit sweary (not fucking sorry). Retiring disgracefully. Cooking and eating, music (20th century), travel, reading, history, genealogy, photography, ex-archery. Swinging further left the older I get. Yes, there's gas in the car!
Did you see how Apple, Amazon Walmart and other big companies are refunding the billions of dollars they got back from the federal tariff settlement to their customers, who ultimately bore the cost of higher prices? Yea, me neither.
A great day for anyone playing Obituary Euphemism Bingo. 66. “Provocative” 14: “Uncompromising” 21: “No topic off limits” 10: “One-of-a-kind” 28: “Led life to the full”.
Call me naïve, but "welease the cop killers" wouldn't have been my first major action as Prime Minister, Andy.
That must have been one of the lowest cumulative #Mastermind scores ever - an average of 13 points per competitor.
Spot-on thread here, which only shows how the widely-held attitude of "all journalists and media are scumbags living in their own little self-fulfilling bubble" continues to proliferate, even if it is a myth.
Sad to see that, in 2026, 'he wrote horrifically unpleasant, bigoted things but did so fearlessly and with brio,' is considered a fitting tribute by so many in the media. www.theguardian.com/media/2026/a...
Right, had a very enjoyable hour reading all the, ahem, 'tributes' to Rod Liddle (and contributing to some). Now time to cook a curry, get on with my life and forget the rancid little shit ever existed.
Before I #cuntblock this person, am I the victim of a spoof post, or is this shit real?
It's notable that the vast majority of tributes to Rod #Liddle are coming from his chums in journalism, the media, or right wing politics. Ordinary people either don't give a shit, or will be glad the performative old shock-hack is finally silent.
See how it works? Hamas say they'll give up their weapons, Trump thinks a deal is done, and #Netenyahu and his #IDFKillers think "quick, slaughter a few more kids so there can't ever be peace". And again, and again, and again. #FuckIsrael #PalestinianGenocide www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Nobody's fault, shit happens, but what a terrible way to end the Women's Open.
Whenever I watch a TV show or movie from before the 2000s, I am reminded that they knew how to light scenes properly back then. (They also knew how to record sound properly. I never have to strain to hear the dialogue over the music or sound effects.)

In our inaugural TVLine Pet Peeves column, we take aim at a nagging annoyance for us: TV shows that are too dark to see.

Neoliberalism in a nutshell. UEFA on FIFA's proposal: “The moment external investors acquire ownership interests ... football changes forever. Commercial return becomes a permanent obligation. ... Every decision is no longer driven by what best serves the game, but by what best serves shareholders.”

Took me seconds to make an image showing 'protesters' around Google buildings, using Google Earth's new AI generation tool. You can make bomb blasts, protesters, drone strikes, nuclear plants. How on earth did Google think this was a good idea www.404media.co/google-earth...
New from 404 Media: Google Earth has introduced an AI feature that lets anyone fabricate completely bullshit satellite images. In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...

Last night made an online purchase of toilet rolls. Wake up this morning to 7 (SEVEN) emails - four from the bog roll company, three (so far) from the delivery company. I shall inevitably receive at least three more emails from the delivery company before a single wipe. It's fucking ridiculous.
First thing Burnham could do to restore some faith in the UK is reverse this ludicrous situation. It can’t be an offence to protest the killing of civilians by a supposedly “friendly” foreign government. ~70,000 killed so far.

Not sure who did this but they should be arrested immediately.
