Maybe I'm in the minority here but if people who support AI are being shamed into silence then it's working. The shame is working as intended. Most people have profoundly negative experiences with this product because its utility remains pretty niche but targeted to the capital class.

there is no such thing as "age verification." All "age verification" is actually "identity verification." You can coat it in glitter and "privacy-preserving" wrapping paper. But in the end, mandating age verification means mandating surveillance be built into software and hardware. Period.
The way that the tenor of so many articles about Ardays fabrications mirrors the obsessive interest in "lolcows" on the far right dark web feels like it should be paid some attention to. Cofnas says there are other cases of academic misconduct but Ardays hit because it's a "story".
