This sucks. Feels so long ago since I reviewed THE VAST OF NIGHT for its release. An underappreciated gem.
Went to go rewatch The Vast of Night, only to discover that they took it off Amazon Prime… the service that released it exclusively. So now it’s literally just not available anywhere. Good times.
phenomenal news

I'm months late, but anyone have favorite pieces about The Drama? They can be positive or negative.
That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Personally, I don't want the job listing website and the website that exposes the realities of working at that job to be owned by the same company. That sure seems like a situation that would incentivize companies to both lie more and punish employees who would otherwise be transparent.

I have a few thoughts about the actual movie, but for now, if you're in Chicago, do not go to the AMC 70 mm for The Odyssey. The masking blocked about 20% of the top of the screen, and they said they could not do anything to fix it.

I know it’s become an ongoing joke about Nolan movies, but I genuinely liked all three of my Nolan rewatches in the last two weeks (The Prestige, Memento, and Inception) less than I remembered specifically because of the thinness of the women characters.
