The trauma stayed. The memory stayed deeply buried. It's terrifying to bring it back out. Today I read a comment from a former resident: "I get a panic attack just from looking at the pics in my feed and starting to think about what we went through back then."

Society chose to stop thinking about it. Disinformation, conspiracy theories about the lab leak, about vaccines, about doctors and hospitals profiting off it all. It made it shameful to even talk about COVID anymore. The information space buried the subject, shoved it into a corner of memory.

RFK Jr said these words today on national television "There were ICUs that were empty all over the country including in New York at the height (of the pandemic)" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha You are a fucking idiot hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha <sobs silently>

Exactly this. RFK Jr meant the conspiracy theory kooks peddling ivermectin & hydroxychloroquine. He lied when he said these kooks cured “thousands” of people, and he lied when he said ICUs were empty during the pandemic, and he lied when said RSV & Lyme were caused by gain of function research.

Because RFK Jr. doesn't mean actual frontline doctors. He means the conspiracy theory propaganda org. "America's Frontline Doctors" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America...

RFK tried a common COVID disinfo tactic, but messed up the delivery. The right loves to say ER visits fell in 2020.
Stat is true, but it's due to people who use ERs for primary care delaying visits while social distancing. So, ER visits fell but ICUs were full due to an influx of COVID patients.

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor

The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.

This is your daily reminder that Trump and Republicans are spending billions of your tax dollars on an unauthorized war in Iran and Stephen Miller’s ICE agenda while gutting Medicaid, slashing SNAP, and driving up your health care costs.

And somehow we r NOT talking about those who stole millions, spread disinfo, poorly responded to 2020 itself...those from the dem house reports. Because dems didn't utilize those reports usefully. And GOP pulls never ending 2020 all the time to scare ppl & make them vote for GOP.
