I’m a better council member, community member, and just Aurin for doing it. I commend the several local leaders, especially the women who have been taking their mental health seriously and have been opening the door for everyone to have the room to do so as well.
I shared why I felt it was important to tell my constituents earlier this year about my diagnosis and experience. They deserve to know, they deserve hear from me seeking help is not a sign of weakness but of strength, and to know that normalizing mental health needs and challenges is important.
I have loved serving as the 12th Ward Council Member on behalf of the community I love, in the best city in the world, and being responsive and frontline to these moments of crisis have come at a personal cost.

obviously it's not a silver bullet but hochul seeing the upside of this kind of you set em up, i knock em down politics is really good news for left/center-left relationships in the next 10 years of democratic politics. maybe the one thing most of us completely 100% agree on.
