A Virginia developer wants to redevelop the old Star Tribune printing plan into a data center in North Loop. This is on a 13-acre site by the river. This is exactly why CM @aurinmpls.bsky.social & I authored a data center moratorium & we were told to not worry. 1/ www.startribune.com/data-center-...

Data center developer signs deal to buy Minnesota Star Tribune’s shuttered North Loop printing plant

The 13-acre property is one of downtown Minneapolis’ last large industrial sites.

A supporter of Angie tagged me in a post today - critiquing that everyone calling out Rep. Craig for this transactional behavior as “performative.” Not voting and criticizing an elected official for untrustworthy behavior is not performative- it’s democracy. 🧵

senator hoffman has released a new statement regarding angie craig’s actions towards him, released via EMQ’s Facebook: she is so cooked

From Senator Erin Maye Quade on Facebook:

“Statement from Senator John Hoffman:

Congresswoman Craig went on FOX 9 this morning and declared that what I said was “emphatically” untrue. Her campaign has also characterized my account as “categorically false.”

Let me be equally clear: I told the truth about what Yvette and I experienced.

The screenshots released by her campaign show direct text messages from Congresswoman Craig. They do not address the substance of what I said: that a dear and trusted friend approached us twice on her behalf regarding an endorsement, once while I was in the ICU and again while I was recovering at home.

That friend confirmed that the endorsement requests came from Congresswoman Craig. Yvette was also present for these conversations. I did not invent them, and I will not allow our family’s experience to be dismissed simply because it is politically uncomfortable.”

I’m sorry but why aren’t we talking more about the fact that Angie Craig called Sen. John Hoffman soon after he was shot for his endorsement?? A new low. Very transactional move and she’s not the person I want representing us in the U.S. Senate. Primary Election Day is 8/11. I’m voting Flanagan.

Breaks my heart for Minneapolis that this politically expedient & baseless message is being made by some leaders. Officers showed up under a minute. No evidence that drones would have prevented this What would have reduced harm & led to prevention & is evidence backed is COMPREHENSIVE GUN CONTROL.

Move over, police horses. Every big crime from now on is an opportunity for the mayor to complain about a lack of 911 drones.

Thanks to everyone for reaching out about how important it is to them for Pilllar to stay open. I’m happy to report that we’ve found a path forward for them to open back up their venue side tomorrow!! The massive show of community support all across the city for Pilllar was so heartening to see.

Our beloved neighborhood cafe & music venue Pillar Forum has been shut down by the City for fire code violations. They were working on the problem but the City decided they can’t host music anymore. Pillar was there for us every day during the Surge. Chip in a couple bucks so they can pay staff.

This morning, ICE killed a 26-year-old Colombian man in Biddeford, Maine. Minneapolis stands in solidarity with Biddeford, with Maine, and with the family, friends, and loved ones now grieving this loss. 1/

"I think that's really important to just make clear to the public: This construction project (Lyndale Ave) is going to have an impact on the area, whether we have bike facilities or other amenities. With a 100-year-old street that really needs reconstruction..." 1/2

chowdhury asking staff how much lyndale ave is federal funding. they say around 40-45%. she asks if it would be possible without these funds, they say right now with the budget it would not be possible to just replace this funding. losing $9 million would have to come from other areas

I'm a fan of Council Member Chowdhury's "Beers and Bulldozers" idea. Program the reconstruction. Quiet enough to have a conversation without traffic noise. My favorite thing to do during the Hennepin reconstruction was the Nico's tacos balcony to watch the dirt get moved around.

It’s an abysmal mistake & out of touch for the MPLS City Council to even be considering doing a drone pilot for MPD with a company used by ICE & the IDF. I’ll be voting NO on surveilling our neighbors in Minneapolis. Thanks to the neighbors testifying against this. dronexl.co/2026/02/02/i...

Proud of my colleague & friend @aishaforward10 for taking an important step to care for herself. I support her 100% in her journey and the step to take leave from the City for the next few weeks. Go to her page to read her statement. It is brave and powerful, and it sets an important example. ❤️❤️❤️

Like millions of Americans, I work to manage my mental health daily. I’ve long ignored my need for more help. That’s why I’m sharing some personal news. I’m taking a leave from the City for a month to get help at a rigorous outpatient program for clinical depression and anxiety.
