One of the proposals called on BMS to "Cease DEI Efforts," and was rejected by shareholder vote 97-2 percent (1% abstained). BMS Board supports "our culture of inclusion" and "all decisions are merit-based."

Support Courage in your university administrations in ANY way you can. A supportive email to someone WAY above your pay grade. A GoTeam! note tacked to the elevator. Let them know the faculty students alumni have their backs and cheer them on to STAND UP. #CourageIsContagious
What's happening with these grants is much more complicated and mostly unknown. None of the NIH have been officially cancelled. The NIH was just ordered to stop paying. They got the Unis to enforce silence on their own campuses because they thought they were "negotiating" and cld get the funds back.

Check this chart. Purple line: NIH actual budget (as passed by Congress) after 2000. This is in real (inflation-adjusted) dollars. The Trump/Vought proposal for 2026 (yellow) is catastrophic, for US science and medical cures for Americans. That's a massive drop.
Wouldn't it be something if the ~2m American research scientists crashed the site with expressions of interests in say the next week? Seems like it would send a notable message?

Amplifying this. NIH money not used by end of summer is gone. I've had a new R01 pending for months now, the award is prepared (according to ERA commons), what steps are left before the NOGA and funds released? Feel like many grants are being slow rolled before they are then not funded.
