One of my prize hauls from yesterday’s visit to the Bristol Ren fair #BRF. A copy of Side Quested by @alepresser.com and @kbspangler.com A book store at the ren fair is truly a magical place. 🧙 Only the fudge, and the few hours of escapism and whimsy ranked higher on the loot scale.
I have this reminder next to where I park my car. It was from the semi trailer we used as a makeshift morgue cooler during Covid. My office overlooked the trailer and the county morgue’s sallyport. I could hear every footfall up and down that damn aluminum ramp. I’ll never forget that.

Had a wonderful time seeing the Hadestown Musical in one of the local movie theaters. The fates kept us from seeing the live show when it came to Chicago and a trip to New York is out of the question. So the film is an awesome chance to see the official show.

The best thing about taking a trip away from home is, back home & waking up in your own bed & having the cats in hyper-cuddle mode. Of course from the time you get home till that first morning back they have to make sure you know they are ignoring you by follow-not-following you around the house 😼

Ugg. The smoke outside is not good. We headed up to Racine Wi (just south of Milwaukee) to use up our non-refundable hotel room for what was supposed to be a Ren Fair weekend. But they closed the fair due to the smoke (understandably).
The air is full of smoke, the food is full of parasites, and the water is full of data center bacteria but at least we stopped all that DEI children's cancer research!
UK folk: I heard something about crappy new laws requiring age verification including BlueSky. Well f- that sh-! I have not tried these methods but worth a look-see Incase it helps you stick around. I’ve had too many friends disappear already. Hate to lose more due to stupid pearl clutching morons.
