Once again, can't even get mad at the Knicks Good team, played great, deserving of the trophy. Spurs, on the other hand, every single game, got huge leads and then managed to cede it every single time. Guess I wouldn't have been let down by that if that wasn't the case EVERY time they played.

I wanted to come back to this after I started hearing Tim Duncan has gone on to be a pretty regular gamer in his retirement. According to David Robinson in a 2020 interview, it was Robinson who introduced the team to Starcraft, and then Duncan and others beat Robinson's ass so hard he quit playing.

However, Robinson soon learned how great Duncan was at anything he put his mind to even video games.

With Tim, when he came in as a youngster, I indoctrinated him into the nerd-world of video games. We used to play computer game - Starcraft or something. I used to beat him and Malik Rose like a drum. Kill them. Then they turned it around on me so quick and all of a sudden they became incredible at the game and I stopped playing.

The most 1999 thing about the previous NBA Finals between the Knicks and the Spurs might be that the Spurs were playing StarCraft against each other in between games
