4 days into bootcamp and it is hard, but it is very good

just had an idea for a practice project that i think i can build that would do something i think is actually useful this is exactly what i needed. cannot wait to start figuring out how to do it tomorrow
finally broke down and spent time grinding extremely annoying javascript problems to put in reps on syntax it’s working, obviously. and i feel good about the gains. but i will be glad when i have gotten good enough to practice via actually doing stuff lmao
just noticed that today is the first day where i’ve been making error messages that amuse me seeing myself start to play is like confirmation that i got this🥲
not exaggerating when i say today is the first day of coding practice that has felt genuinely rewarding. i think yesterday’s “troubleshoot my confusion directly” focus, while slow and painful, actually paid off
grinding fullstackopen in preparation for an assessment prereq for a bootcamp. it has been… a journey. lmao primarily emotionally
maybe i will do my react noob posting here i don’t care for the kind of attention it attracts on the other site
you can just post here
i'm taking "mini unemployment" by eating a mid-day meal at my job lasting 30-60 minutes

Booking some tech talks. @rudyfraser.com on writing lots of from scratch Rust implementations and building out @blacksky.app @trezy.codes has done very cool labeling and onboarding for the games industry. And maybe a group call with mini demos and examples of clients, blogs, and more.

i tend to read posts before poster, so i thought this was @ultimape
my cousin’s wife is having a difficult pregnancy and is in the hospital(again), and they’ve asked me to come watch their 3yo son in the hospital so he can go back to work without her being alone. so of course, im driving to birmingham today
got to lay with my grandmother and read to her for a while this evening. she’s always liked sharing books with me.
my grandmother is more frail than she’s ever been. her energy is quite low. she didn’t even come downstairs, we visited her up in her room. it doesn’t feel like she’s fading, exactly. more like downshifting. idk.
my grandmother’s doctor is recommending hospice, but my grandmother is doing things like bustling around the house cleaning out closets and whatnot, so we’re all driving up there to see for ourselves what’s what
okay, that was not what i would call an interview, lmao. they have in-house recruiters and one of them just called me, rattled off a script that included a few generic questions, and said that if one of the 10 possible teams chooses to move forward with me, they’ll let me know by Aug 2nd
finally got an interview at this company i’ve been lowkey courting since February, and highkey courting since i finished my program last month. here’s hoping i land the position 🤞🏾
i bought two sets of these, and i’m in love with them so far. already one of my favorite equipment purchases of all time www.indianclubs.com.au/indian-clubs...

@ultimape.bsky.wovensoup.com 2 days after red wine purge, and i already feel more like myself. sleep not totally fixed yet, but it’s better. replenishing gut with bowls of raisin bran crunch+kefir
the fuller my bladder gets, the weirder my dreams will get, until finally i wake up from sheer weirdness and go pee

yesterday i tried a mtn dew flavor called “Liberty Chill.” they didn’t even try to characterize it. the label said “50 flavors in one Dew” nothing in life has ever made me feel more patriotic
That reminds me, I was listening to a song last week that was clearly just three limited edition Mountain Dew flavors in a Gracenote file

@ultimape.bsky.wovensoup.com had to do a course of antibiotics like a month or so ago and have been feeling like a nothing-person ever since, so i’m doing a red wine purge again
