the confidence of an average white man is a decent baseline from which we can start to establish what human psychological vulnerabilities can and will be exploited by AI. Green is a good example of a desirable host for the parasite, maybe moreso if the offline layman generally has no idea who he is

part of why the AI market is pushing "everybody is using it, it's inevitable" narrative: I've seen with people in my life the more you lean on it (and a lil bit slippery slopes towards more) it will make you worse at what you're doing until your output is as mediocre as anyone only using AI to do it

Customers are rejecting gen AI art,
music, articles, games, scripts, etc
if they still can find enough human-
made alternatives. AI industry benefits
if skilled people lose their advantage and
stop providing alternatives. If you have
experience doing a skill it will dull your
ability until your work might as well
be done by an untrained 20 year old
asking AI. Like how the auto industry
fights bike lanes, public transit, sidewalks.

The specific focus in this video on the way these tools get under your skin and train you to depend on them is an aspect I personally find existentially terrifying. youtu.be/TtvICev9sBE?...

i don't think i talked about how as a prank to my friends i edited the entire 2 hour run of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children like a ytp and passing it off as a weird link from 2007 i found on internetarchive heres the Sephiroth fight edited like a classic cartoon. The whole film is like this.

I really believe that the world will be a better place -- better, kinder, more hopeful and more forgiving -- when Everyone stops hatewatching WWE. yes even critics and creators. you don't have to make people care about your takes if they already don't want the product. even Rifftrax has limits.

seeing so many summer slam takes and at a certain point I am asking you not to watch WWE not even on moral grounds but because, like, clearly you don't fuckin like it. 🤼

honest question, I've seen the Uservoice website used several times over the past year or three to collect various complaints about Twitch functionality, policy, etc. and I never really knew how to ask this: has it been an effective channel for protest / complaint / petition?

I've been thinking about my older tunes lately, and about some of the attempts I've made to "rework" or "update" some of them, and it lines up with how I feel about updated versions of other electronic musicians' low-fidelity work: it often loses something in the translation. it becomes too normal
