As much as I like the idea of training for vocational careers at school, I also think there should be more opportunities and routes for adults to do vocational apprenticeships. Not everyone is ready to choose their path as a teenager and many modern apprenticeships cap the age.

Most kids who do level 1 or 2 plumbing courses do not even become plumbers. Even those that do are often working as sole traders or for v small companies. They need academic skills to navigate regulations and taxes as much as a barrister.
