Mayor Keith Wilson’s Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Zajonc is currently talking to Portland’s Bicycle Advisory Committee about the mayor’s “moonshot goal” to make Portland the US city with the highest bike mode share by 2030. Zajonc says he is a daily bike commuter.

If your intervention to reduce the danger cyclists pose to pedestrians results in a significant number of cyclists switching to making those journeys by car, it will almost always increase the net danger to pedestrians.
Hundreds of riders turned up to defend legal e-bike use this afternoon. The government’s ridiculous proposals to restrict e-bike use to people who hold a drivers license, with a 10 km/h speed limits on paths has upset many riders across across the state.
