Mets 6, Guardians 2. Carson Benge gunned down a runner and hit a ball 451 feet. Sean Manaea reached 95 mph and mostly did well. Nate Lavender impressed in his MLB debut. Kodai Senga didn't blow it in the end. Here I am putting it in the books.

My incredible brother-in-law Patrick, gold medalist special Olympian, multi-sport athlete in track, bowling, bocce, softball, and hockey turned 45 today. We celebrated with a pool party. I wish more people in this world could be as kind and as loving as he is. The world would be a better place.

Trade deadline thoughts: I will miss Tyrone Taylor most of all. Luke Weaver, we hardly knew ye. Clay Holmes, mayhap we'll see you again. At least Stearns didn't trade Alvarez or Torrens to the Yankees. And here's hoping Raley goes full Tom Glavine and destroys the Phillies from within. #LGM #MetsSky

My in-laws came over yesterday to visit and use the pool. Brandy was great with company but now I think she wants that level of attention every day. She is not having her play pen or crate today. She is like no way, lady.

A lot of people complain about Connecticut… I get it’s expensive but we have the best of both worlds… gorgeous rural farm areas, forests, trails AND the shoreline with decent beaches. I just could do without the traffic and the taxes.
