New rule, if your characters are drunk, the actors need to be drunk too. No more fake drunk acting, it's awful.

It's still crazy to me how Star Trek and especially Strange New Worlds is only really used to make very basic and painfully trite novelty episodes and pass them off as ''big swings''
I'm assembling a team to defeat Doom. We've got Failed Captain America, Russian Captain America, Captain America's best friend and New Captain America. If that doesn't work, we also have Not Captain America anymore Captain America.
And consumer laws around digital games will evolve along with this new reality too, right Sony? RIGHT SONY?!
Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles blog.playstation.com/2026/07/01/p...
“In my opinion, the biggest risks of shortened schedules is quality, reduced features, polish, or bugs,” So a typical Bethesda release then. It's been 15 years since Skyrim, Elder Scrolls 6 will be buggy no matter how long they cook. It's not crazy to expect sequels to take less than two decades.
Me sitting here desperately waiting for Amazon to deliver a much needed new fan.
it must be so heart-breaking to make all this cool artwork for a game, and then they slap some dabadee-dabadi mfs on the cover because it's 2005 and the last thing anyone wants to do is look like a japanimation.
REBELSTAR TACTICAL COMMAND
An almost 50 year old franchise and they got scared the audience might be put off by alien languages. And what's with the poorly forced refresher of Mando's creed? No one's going in to this blind, and if they are, there's smoother ways to handle this exposition.
New clip from ‘THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU’. In theaters on May 22.
They sell ANDOR action figures, of course, and of course the audience is 35-50-year-olds, but it's deeply funny to imagine children playing with little Luthen Rael and Saw Gerrera dolls. CHILD 1: I think violence is not only justified, but demanded CHILD 2: I agree, but haste could be our undoing
"if you were in charge of star trek, what would you do?" Stop greenlighting every ''star trek but other show'' idea and put all those ideas into one show. I'd prefer one thing explored over a 45 minute episode than a million ideas spread over 15 spin offs that all get cancelled two seasons in.
I am looking Star Trek fans in the eye here as well If you have to type out the hypothetical words of a hypothetical shithead to argue with them, instead of a real guy really saying those things, take a moment to think about whether you're just making yourself mad bc it feels good and then... don't
"Is this an actual political belief large quantities of real people in the real world could/do hold, or am I arguing with the same 500 extremely online people who annoy me, also an extremely online person, online," the most pertinent political question for every pundit/poaster in 2026
Of course, AGI: Actually gone insane.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says ‘I think we’ve achieved AGI’
Make Star Trek on a Law & Order budget you cowards. Bridge set, Sickbay, Engineering, two corridors and either a quarry or vasquez rocks for outside scenes and you're good to go for 20 years worth of episodes.
For Star Trek's 60th anniversary, the Strange New Worlds crew should time travel forward to The Trouble With Tribbles episode of TOS but it now includes the cast of DS9 in the background from when they traveled back in time in Trials and Tribble-ations.
"Ah captain, you and your Federation have made some bad choices in impossible situations. You are not so unlike me, a man who has exploited and killed many people because you made me feel bad. And yes, I may have taken a sadistic joy in it all, but that doesn't make you better than me…"
It's hard to look at this as a genuine creative desire when the show they're pitching is pretty much what they have been making for 5 years already with Strange New Worlds. They've had the opportunity to explore a prequel to TOS and it got cancelled. Move on.
The Creators of 'Strange New Worlds' Sure Hope Paramount Loves Their 'Star Trek: Year One' Pitch
Have my usual nitpicks with this weeks episode, but can we get Jonathan Frakes to direct all of Starfleet Academy because that was very well paced for once.
The main word that comes to mind to describe this weeks Starfleet Academy is ''Verbose'' That was a very very long 60 minutes of television.
It's depressing how impossible it is to find genuine criticism, or even genuine praise for modern Star Trek that isn't dominated by either mindless regurgitation of grifter reviews or repetitive dismissive surface level "you would have called TNG woke too" comments.
Computer, generate digital sequential art. Simulate debate on quality of end result. Create preliminary sketches and layers to present work flow, don't show inks or colouring, add random imperfections such as extra fingers to increase intensity of debate. Disengage safety protocols. Begin program.
Of course Trekmovie would try run defense for this. Not only is the ''proof'' a ''trust us, we have sources'' it then goes on a weird defense of the use of AI in Hollywood with a total misunderstanding of the issue. Anything to keep in Paramount's good books, right?
Confirmed: Comic Book From ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ Ep. 6 Was NOT Created With AI #startrek #starfleetacademy #ai https://bit.ly/sfa106comicnotai
The ''can't wait to see how certain fans get upset about this'' people are just as insufferable as the grifters. Two sides of same coin.
I'll take 22 episode seasons where most are low quality over 8 episode seasons because I'm crazy and like seeing characters have time to interact with each other and actually develop relationships versus only sharing 5 lines of dialogue with each other per season.
It's frustrating that the response is "no one wanted these" while ignoring the purposeful greedy business models that road block access to these games. Not only were both released at high price, that price was kept high to incentivise players to subscribe to gamepass as the "cheaper" option.
Obsidian's latest RPGs didn't sell well, so don't expect The Outer Worlds 3:
So I wasn't going crazy when the Doctor left out words in the opening quote. There's been some really odd production and editing audio issues with Starfleet Academy so far, but it's really surprising something like that made it through the final cut.
It's crazy to me that they made Jay-Den's actor in Starfleet Academy force a deep voice that doesn't seem to come natural to him and also deepened it even more in post. It's very distracting.
