posting this before i lose my nerve!! ive been quietly working on a little pre-warp spirk fic... ive been wanting to get back into writing! a story in which spock crash lands on 1960s earth during a routine survey of the planet and is saved by jim kirk 🛸🚜💛💙 archiveofourown.org/works/648213...

A screenshot of the title and summary of the fanfiction "The Vulcan Who Fell to Earth". The summary reads:
"The NSS T’Vann was going to crash.

Thirty-one standard seconds was not enough time to launch the escape pod.

Despite their reputation throughout the galaxy as emotionless automatons, even a Vulcan was not immune to the overbearing weight of fear. Emotion was not purged by evolution, but mastered with lifelong training. In moments of certain doom, those less disciplined would succumb to their primal nature. Years of practice would slip away – mere grains of sand racing through cracks between fingers.

...

Cast out fear. There is no room for anything else until you cast out fear.

Spock repeated the words as a mantra in his mind. They were the original words of Surak, the sermon which had saved their species from self-annihilation. His wisdom had delivered them from fear and the destructive, untamable force of entropy.

Yet, Spock could not cast out fear, for he was stranded on this alien world inhabited by barbarians – and he was alone."

These two REFUSE to stop flirting on the bridge, I think they actually enjoy making other people deal with it. The entire crew is a captive audience to their shit. Everyone was fine with the chances of death from quasars and stuff, but they were NOT prepared for how gay these two were going to be.

Oh! I can also share the fic i wrote for the zine! "It Strangles So" is an angsty mirrorverse fic that centers on a pregnant Spock and his relationships with both his abusive captain and his caring doctor. You can read it here: archiveofourown.org/works/79613861

I was so honored to be a part of this project! I present to you my fic, "Sunlight Through the Blinds," a mcspirk TMP AU complicated by a pregnancy (graphic beautifully scrapbooked by @illegalpaladin.bsky.social)! Link: archiveofourown.org/works/79605891

The title page for my fic, "Sunlight Through the Blinds," designed by illegalpaladin! A large yellow star peeks between strips of blue washi tape, representing the title of the fanfic- sunlight peeking through window blinds. Two smaller black rounded rectangles are behind the blinds and decorated with smaller golden stars.

Hey, preg fans! For almost the last six months, a group of us has been working on a super secret project to celebrate our friend @remylebae.bsky.social getting married. Now that they've said their vows and received their gift, it's time for us to release our works to the public!

Our social media has been quiet for a while, but behind the scenes we've been as busy as the lower decks on red alert! Very exciting things are happening here at The Zine Directive... 👀 We are starting to build the actual physical zine and we couldn't be more excited! Stay tuned for more updates!

It's so fitting that the first line we actually typed on a typewriter for the zine was, "It had to have been near the very beginning--"
