Reading BALLAD OF THE SALTY SEA and finding the cartooning so thrilling; in some ways it feels like Pratt still trying to figure out his style for the series, in other ways he feels totally in control. Note the contrast between the second panel and the almost Steinbergesque simplicity of the third

they really gotta delocalize the english subtitles on La Haine. it's not 1995 anymore, people can look up Asterix and Obelix. also at one point a character very clearly calls some guy a pederast and the subs say like "i really hate you!" come on. people know that word now, it's in The Big Lebowski
