I visited the Pentagon recently and remarked to my escort there were lots of bathrooms. He said it’s because the Pentagon’s in Virginia and when it was built Jim Crow laws were in effect - the separate bathrooms were for blacks. As we saw in Virginia today, the past isn’t dead. It isn’t even past.
