Stand with 🇺🇦 🇬🇪 Liberal/center left. Geopolitics, Democracy, Europe, Georgia, Iran, Baltics.. Focus on Ukraine. Our War.

Dalia Grybauskaitė, former President of Lithuania: Entire political and economic elite of Germany was very close to Russia in terms of economic interests. No politician could change that. These commercial relations were very much dominant.

Btw, the US created the conditions that led to Ru invading Ukraine only in so far as it was overly accommodating and thus gave Ru the idea they can conquer Ukraine and the intl community would just sit and watch. Anyone arguing the US deliberately "provoked" Ru to invade doesn't understand the war.

The russian society had no problem with their army exterminating Mariupol, committing the Bucha massacre, mass murders in Izium, & nuclear terrorism, bombing of Okhmatdyt hospital, abducting Ukrainian children, or torturing POWs... But the loss of Wildberries? That's where the line must be drawn.

APPLEBAUM: If Russians stop fighting, war is over. If Ukrainians stop fighting, Ukraine is over. Ukraine doesn’t exist anymore. So, they have no choice, but to fight. Ukrainians have to continue fighting to defend their country. That’s what Trump has just resisted understanding.

Booommm 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥 Fiiiiiiiirrreeee 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 A huge cloud of smoke rises over Samara after a fire broke out at the Wildberries logistics hub following a Ukrainian drone strike.

Yehor Terekhin, a 22 yo. Kyiv patrol officer, was killed on Aug. 1 during Russia’s ballistic attack on the capital. After the first strike, he and his partner were helping civilians at the impact site. Russia then struck the same location again.

"Tsargrad", a pro-Kremlin outlet linked to Konstantin Malofeev, is now also reporting that General Chaiko was the target of the explosion in central Moscow. If confirmed, it would mark another high-profile incident involving a senior russian military figure.

❗️Russians collect surviving Ukrainian drones, repair them and prepare them for future provocations in European countries, — Serhiy "Flash" "It is very important that the world community understands all this. Hybrid modern warfare is happening." — adds the specialist.

🇺🇦 Zelensky: This week, 16 of our regions were under attack. And during this time alone, the Russians launched about 1,900 drones, almost 1,600 air bombs and 144 missiles of various types, including ballistics. Today, Sumy was hit by air bombs. In Brovary, a person died, six injured.

I forgot to show you this yesterday. Yesterday we celebrated Makovia in Ukraine. On this day, we make these sweet poppy seed flatbreads. They’re incredibly delicious, and we only make them once a year, especially for Makovia.

Poland must invoke Article 4 again immediately. The crash of a russian cruise missile in NATO territory is an absolute red line and should lead to devastating consequences for the russians. Inaction by the alliance will be seen as an invitation to continue and escalate the attacks.

We should all take inspiration from 🇺🇦Ukraine. Twelve years of defending itself against Russia’s senseless aggression, and Ukraine finds the strength to join the European effort to combat wildfires in France. Simply amazing. www.lemonde.fr/en/france/ar...

🇺🇦 Fedorov said he would not join the political opposition to Zelensky during the war and would not meet with demonstrators demanding his return to office. He also said he wanted protesters at the protests to focus not on his position, but on the strategy of waging war.
