💯% The GOP has made a deal with the devil. The red crayon handwriting is on the wall. But let's concentrate on making "our side" more responsive, inclusive, and dedicated to democracy. We need bold proposals. And no one gets thrown under the bus.
Angus Johnston@angus.bsky.social · 14h agoThe decisive failure of GOP referenda in Kansas Amendment 1 and Missouri Amendment 4 yesterday is yet another reminder of something I've been saying for a while: Voters, even Republican voters, now regularly despise and repudiate GOP attempts to use them to destroy democracy.
This is getting tedious. I wish this stuff went right for the lungs of climate change denialists. Fill 'em right up with choking fumes and leave cleaner air for the rest of us. Especially the blithe idiots who said stuff like "A warmer earth will be more habitable and prosperous!"
When they see Republicans overreach and threaten democracy, even voters in "red" states stand up and say NO.

Rooftop solar hardwires into your main panel via a dedicated breaker, so it requires a permit, an installer, an electrician, and a utility agreement. Balcony solar just plugs into a wall outlet, sharing an existing circuit with no permits or rewiring.

It is far too easy for those in a position of privilege to judge the actions of others through the lens of that privilege, supporting laws and rules the protect it while vilifying those who don't have it. Honor is not to blindly follow rules, but to see them for what they are, and who they benefit.

Great Substack about UPA, the animation studio that revolutionized cartoons in the 1950s. Founded by the leftist animators who were purged by Walt Disney during the infamous 1941 strike, it was UPA that dragged animation into midcentury mod. Mr. Magoo was their big hit.
