Guest lecturing in an adaptation class based around the Nibelungenlied, and I'm talking about LOTR adaptations—Jackson's, Bakshi's, Zeppelin's references, Shore's Symphony, and the War of Rohirrim (we'll see how much I get to lol)

Feels very weird to post anything celebratory these days, but here goes: thrilled to announce my student and I were accepted to NACVGM to present on organizing a video game ensemble at a uni, and that I was accepted to Hanyang University's "Audible Futures" conference. Finally going to Korea!

Advice for early career scholars: overcite. Mostly because it makes finding citations you'll be using later on a lot easier to find. Even if editors/advisors make you cut things, those citations will be in early drafts, at least~

I don't think I'm an especially funny person, so I take pride in the laughs I got last night when someone was talking about how the "whole world watching the Superbowl" and I responded "the whole world? This is football, not /football/."

Nice to see my co-authored piece with the inimitable @stefanxgc.bsky.social getting a shout-out in the new AMS newsletter 🥳 For those interested, “We Are What They Grow Beyond: Visions (and Sounds) of a Transnational 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘴” is freely available over at 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘕𝘰𝘸 👇
