An interesting piece by @richardwynjones.bsky.social on the new Prime Minister’s #devolution agenda and the extent to which his vision for England may diverge from his govt’s approach to managing the territorial constitution in Scotland and Wales #senedd #holyrood #stormont
How do we explain the contradiction between Burnham’s enthusiastic championing of devolution and the deep devo-scepticism of his territorial Secretaries? ✍️Richard Wyn Jones buff.ly/yeUmZcX
Kinnock should step down immediately. His position is untenable given that his wife sits on the board of Vesta Wind Systems who are expanding into the Celtic Sea which includes Pembrokeshire. A clear conflict of interest exists regarding any decisions regarding devolution of Crown Estate powers.
nation.cymru/news/no-comm... Perhaps this is the potential "instability" Kinnock was thinking of with his casual dismissal of Crown Estate devolution (which has wide support amongst those who actually live in Cymru)?

Andy Burnham says he wants to redistribute power to every corner of the country. That's a noble goal. But it cannot be achieved without ensuring that all votes count equally, regardless of your postcode. To empower left behind communities, we need Proportional Representation.

Welsh Secretary Stephen Kinnock has been criticised for saying he is not yet "entirely convinced" of the case for giving more powers to the Welsh Government
I’ve called on the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards to conduct a formal investigation into whether Nigel Farage breached the MP Code of Conduct, specifically regarding the gifts and benefits he received from George Cottrell in the 12 months leading up to the 2024 General Election.
While chaos englufs Labour and Reform UK at Westminster - Plaid Cymru is taking urgent action on your priorities, and always demanding fairness for Wales. Gydag anrhefn lwyr yn San Steffan - mae Plaid Cymru yn parhau i sefyll fyny dros Gymru a mynnu tegwch i’n cymunedau. 🏴
Now that their soon-to-be leader has U-turned on fair funding, Labour have given up on standing up for Wales. They refuse to support Plaid Cymru's calls to scrap the unfair Barnett formula. Plaid Cymru will always stand up for Wales and fight for the fairness we deserve.

Last night, Labour joined Reform and the Tories to play politics and reject Plaid Cymru’s calls for fair funding for Wales 😳 They’ll always put party before country - while Plaid Cymru will always stand up for our communities 🏴✊
Seeking powers over policing to Wales isn’t about power for power’s sake - it’s to improve the lives of our people If it’s good enough for Manchester, why not Wales? 🤔 Mae Plaid Cymru yn gwthio am bwerau dros blismona a chyfiawnder i greu cymunedau mwy diogel. 🏴
...and it seems Cymru can't *afford* independence
Watching London-centric politicians lose their minds at the suggestion of further devolution because "IT COSTS TOO MUCH" while they sit in a mouse-infested palace that is costing taxpayers £40bn to renovate. FYI - £40bn would cover the annual cost of the (expanded) Welsh Senedd for 390 years...

So that'll be seven UK Prime Ministers in ten years. What happened to the "strong and stable government" we were all promised? I suppose promising us a decade of continual bin fires wouldn't have had the same ring to it. Time to go, Scotland.
Brexit supporters can literally have it spelled out to them - in pictures - but they’ll still refuse to admit that they were wrong. Cost sunk fallacy in action. #r4today #wato #Brexit #bbcpm
