Twenty-one years after Katrina, Mississippi knows the importance of being prepared. We should be strengthening disaster response, not weakening the agency that's there to help communities in their hardest moments.

Thank you, MICHIGAN! I'm so proud to be your Democratic nominee for Governor of Michigan. I'm ready to fight for your future — costs down, wages up, rights protected, and a government that works for all of us.

Democrats have no one to blame for this but themselves. We can't help but dunk on people who want to abandon MAGA and/or betray Trump. We don't keep them from getting primaried. We don't campaign to keep them in office as an "insurgent wing" of the GOP. So they have no escape path.

A big social factor too. Republican officials are terrified of being labeled a traitor, becoming a hate object of right-wing media, and shunned by friends and family. Adam Kinzinger's family members publicly denounced him for saying the Constitution is good and a violent attack on America is bad.

And THIS is why I call the Houthis the Blackwater of the Middle East. They're so undisciplined and so poorly trained they'll fire on their own allies. They were the ONE group you didn't want stepping into this, because they simply do not care who suffers.

This is an important but undermentioned point. Healthcare in the 1970s and 1980s SUCKED. That's partially why Gen Xers know so much basic first aid and have stories about putting ourselves back together with bandaids and duct tape, and treating everything with Robitussin.

Think about it this way: would you prefer 1970s healthcare at 1970s prices, or 2020s healthcare at 2020s prices? If you say the former, you're a lot more confident of not facing any truly serious malady than I am.

According to the Senate GOP: Todd Blanche became a different person somewhere between the confirmation hearing and today’s vote. He remains Trump’s personal lawyer. Same client. Same corruption. Same playbook. Nothing has changed. He has no business becoming Attorney General.

The NAACP has released a statement while the Tarrant County Commissioners Court considers a proposal today that would cut the number of Election Day polling locations nearly in half "Let's call this what it is… voter suppression"

Tarrant County, Texas, could see around 50 percent fewer polling locations in November's election.

"Let's call this what it is… voter suppression," said NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson. "Cutting nearly half the places where people can cast a ballot doesn't save democracy money, it costs voters their voice. Tarrant County is home to a significant number of Black and Latino voters and is a majority people-of-color county. There is no question that this plan strips away polling access on a scale that will hit Black and Brown voters hardest. That is not a coincidence. It’s an intentional assault on our ability to make our voices heard and we will push back with every tool available.”
