This year for #StepOnIzzy Day, Izzy finally gets to be used as furniture!

Blackbeard emerged from his cabin this morning, a wild look in his eyes and enough of the brilliant spark he is known for apparent in him that it makes everyone forget the past two weeks where he hadn't been seen once by the crew. Almost everyone, anyway. Izzy is acutely aware of each of those days, of the ones where Edward wouldn't even let him into the cabin, of the meals brought in when he was allowed and carried out untouched the next day. He can exhale somewhat now that the worst of Edward's melancholy seems to be past him, but not fully. Edward has never been one to do things by halves, bursting forth with all of his energy at once as soon as he regains it. He’ll be in good spirits, Izzy is sure, but his body will protest in the way all things long enough at sea will do, even if Edward won't let on that it is doing so.
As is usual, there is a bit of light revelry in the evening as Blackbeard explains his latest fuckery idea and the crew grows restless for their next raid to execute it, but things quiet down eventually, and Izzy is waiting for Edward when it does. He has his captain's pipe ready, a plate with dried fruit, a glass of the least rough liquor they have aboard, and himself at attention, willing to fulfill whatever whims of Edward’s that he is able from aboard this ship.

“There you are,” Edward greets as he finally enters the cabin, giving Izzy a friendly pat on the back as he launches into further explanation of his latest idea as he settles in his chair, words only stopping to take a sip from his glass or a bite of food.
Izzy listens dutifully, noting supplies that they’ll need to ensure they have at hand and any logistical issues he’ll have to solve to make sure things go smoothly when they pull off Edward’s plan. When the one-sided conversation has gone on long enough, Izzy lights Edward’s pipe, presenting it to him wordlessly.
As Edward takes a puff, it seems like he takes a breath for the first time all day, finally relaxing and falling silent as he smokes, stretching his limbs out as he melts into his chair.
“How’s your knee, boss?” Izzy asks, hands practically twitching to massage the joint that so often gives Edward trouble.
“It’s fine, Iz,” Edward assures, taking another puff from the pipe and fixing a particular look in Izzy’s direction before continuing, “Think I just need to put it up.”

Izzy’s face flushes almost immediately, recognizing Edward’s expression and the request in his words. There’s a humiliation to it, being used in the most literal sense, being furniture for his captain, that makes his skin warm as his cheeks pink, but there is a deeper warmth that wells within him at the thought of being of use, and that feeling pulls him to sink onto his hands and knees in front of Edward without hesitation.
Edward kicks one foot up onto Izzy’s back, then the other, crossing them at the ankle and letting his heel dig into Izzy slightly. “That’s it, mate,” he praises with a groan as he settles.
It takes everything in Izzy to not let himself shudder as pleasure rolls through him at the words, forcing himself to stay still for Edward’s benefit, remaining in place until his captain has another use for him.

Happy Step On Izzy Day 2026! I wrote a little SFW fic from the Swede’s perspective about Izzy teaching him how to waltz. This story takes place in a canon-divergent setting after Season 2 where Izzy lived and the Swede and Spanish Jackie are still on the Revenge. #swizzy #polycrew #steponizzy

Part 1/2:

A long time ago, somebody told the Swede he had two left feet, but that did not make sense. He has only one left foot and one right foot. He did not know why they said that until Jackie told him what they were meaning. The Swede remembers it and is very nervous. He is seeing Mr. Izzy giving dancing lessons to Captain Frenchie and knows his turn is next. He knows about many ways of dancing, but not the waltzing.

Mr. Izzy is so much nicer now than when Blackbeard saved the Swede and his friends from the Spanish many months ago, but sometimes is still angry and rude. It is confusing. The Swede is not knowing if he should be afraid of him anymore.

When Captain Frenchie can do the new dance and does not trip, the smaller man whistles to call for the Swede. The loud noise surprises him, but he runs to Mr. Izzy.

“You treat Jackie’s husband right or Jackie’s gonna hurt you real bad, short stack,” Jackie says. The Swede is blushing. He loves his wife a lot!

Mr. Izzy grunts and nods to Jackie. He is knowing what the strong pirate lady can do. The Swede stops running when he is in front of the man. He has not stopped being nervous.

“One hand on my shoulder and the other in my hand,” Mr. Izzy says and puts his arms up. He grabs the Swede’s shaking hand and his waist, then they are moving.

Mr. Izzy is doing a very good job of not yelling at the Swede when he is moving his feet the wrong way, or moving too far away. He makes an unhappy face when his good foot is stepped on, but he is not shouting. It is helping the Swede feel better.

The waltzing is hard at first, but Mr. Izzy says to move in a box shape. Now it makes more sense why they are moving in small steps. The Swede smiles, “The dancing is easy now! Thank you!”

“Don’t say that ‘til after the pirouette.”

The Swede is not knowing what that word means. He asks, “What is a peer-oh-et?”

“It’s a spin.”

Part 2/2:

“Like a ballerina spin?”

“No. No, it’s… Stop moving and let go of my shoulder. Loosen your grip on my hand. Now lift it with mine.”

The Swede is following Mr. Izzy’s orders very closely. He takes a big breath when the man spins on his wooden unicorn leg.

The Swede says, “Wow! I did not know you could do that!”

“Normally can’t. My hip hurts like a f*cking b!tch too often.”

“Oh. I am sorry. It does not sound fun.”

Mr. Izzy breathes out loudly, “Don’t think on it; today’s a good day. Now, you spin.”

The Swede spins on one leg. It makes his belly tickle in a nice way, so he laughs. He is not paying attention when his spinning is over. He is wanting to put his foot down on the deck, but he steps on Mr. Izzy’s wooden hoof on accident. He was not expecting it, so he tripped and would have fallen on his bottom if the man did not hold his hand tighter.

“F*cking steady on, man!”

“I am sorry.”

Mr. Izzy is looking upset, but not angry. He lets go of the Swede’s hand and says, “It’s fine. Just don’t spin so fast, yeah?”

The Swede is happy that the man is forgiving him, “Ok.”

When the waltzing lesson is done, the Swede thanks Mr. Izzy and joins Jackie for a yummy drink. He hopes he can dance again soon.
