#CartAugust 5 The most noteworthy stretch of water on this map (the Five Kingdoms, from my Relics of War books) surrounds the islands known as Maelstrom's Fury. Maelstrom is the name the god of storms goes by, and that region is frequently hit with bad weather. Countless ships have wrecked there.

#FantasyIndiesAugust 4 Favorite piece of folklore/fairytale I've always been fascinated by mythology, and I read fairytales often when I was younger. I'm not sure I have a favorite, but I've always loved tales with fantastical creatures/peoples best (and it shows in my books!)

#CartAugust: Mountains, Canyons, Caves There's a region known as the Dragonlands, and it's probably my favorite mountainous region in my books (not only because it was the home of the dragons.) I modeled the area's topography after parts of Wyoming (photo is my own, taken in March 2016.)
