Rev'd Joe Smith was licensed last night as vicar of St Mary Magdalene in Alsager. Rev'd Sarah travelled up to be with him, as did some members of the congregation with family ties to the parish! We'll be keeping Rev'd Joe in our prayers 🙏

Well done Church in Wales. There is rarely a kind or positive word said about trans people at the moment. The dignity of trans people is not in opposition to women's rights. St John's affirms its commitment to trans and to non-trans people. Explicitly, trans and cis people are welcome at St John's

St John's offers its warm congratulations to Rob Jones who is due to be ordained deacon in Llandaff Cathedral on Saturday 27th June. He will serve his curacy in the Caerphilly and Aber Valley Ministry Area with the Rev'd Emma Rees-Kenny as his Training Incumbent.

Christians try to say Morning and Evening prayer each day. These ancient and beautiful services (or Offices as they are more properly called) allow us to begin and end our day with God. They remind us of timeless truths and anchor us. Sometimes they are so prescient. Here's this morning's psalm!
