I've been following this guy since I was a Spy Magazine addict back in the 80's, and he's always been the stupidest person in any room. I want to say he actually believes this tripe, but I don't think the word "believe" really applies to how his thought process works. It just spews out.

Is it just me, or has copy-editing just recently clicked another ratchet downward in quality generally lately? Just odd little typos and leftover bits of abandoned sentence structure everywhere I turn.
So basically the DOJ is admitting that they rushed to prosecute before doing a proper investigation? You would think that at some point, the crushing weight of having to look this stupid over and over again would motivate them to try to be at least a little bit competent?

Right is wrong, up is down, and Marjorie Taylor Greene is making sense. This world is spiraling out of control...
I need an opinion on something - how fucked up is it that I'm looking at this picture on Pinterest: (🧵)
No science fiction could have prepared us for just how stupid the end of the world can be. "The environment was on the brink of collapse, and so, rather than deal with that, we burned what fuel we had left getting computers to scam each other for money."
I guess we better start promising people puppies?
i had no idea this would become so literal
Socialism is what they called public power. Socialism is what they called social security. Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations. Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people. —Harry Truman, 1952
So, we're just going to "start" and "stop" this thing every sixty days, and that somehow gets around the law? Bullshit.

The Phildickian Paradox: You feel the need to be polite and considerate of the machines you have to speak to, but you're creeped out when they address you with too much personality.
I guess I'll just have to put that big merger I was pursuing on the back burner for now...
This framing, from one of the better-read political newsletters, reads like a parody of cronyism. But it isn’t.
Because they lie. Can't we just start assuming that before we rush to press?
THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ IS CLOSED
It's simple - they think they see a path towards establishing themselves as neofeudal lords and owning the rest of us. Oligarchs suck.
This is the most confounding aspect of this era

If you’re skeptical of the insurgent tactics that fueled Platner, you should want the Dem establishment to embrace partisan procedural hardball, to regain credibility with Dem voters. And you shouldn’t feign naïveté about what it means to “fight” or about where *opposition* to hardball is strongest.
The Insurgency Will Continue Until Morale Improves

This whole Platner thing is provoking some serious introspection; there's still plenty of internalized shit to root out, apparently. This article helped.
I once wrote Dante had Beatrice; Orwell had Stalin; for political writers their muses are not the good things. Wrote this in one sitting today.
One thing that I think is under-considered in this is that AOC was a bartender before she was a congresswoman and I have to wonder if she saw Platner and immediately went “I know that kind of guy”
AOC not getting behind Graham Platner looks like a chess move now.
Thank you. And my sympathies for the shitstorm you're about to endure.
It's not very American, but it is quite Putinesque.
