ICE will use shock gloves on Americans. ICE will use shock gloves on protesters.

I don't think that gloves like this should exist. I mean, I don't think that ICE should exist. But definitely abolish ICE and double abolish shock gloves.

If the Iranian missile technology has improved so they can change direction to impair the effectiveness of Patriot defensive missiles, doesn't the U.S. need better missile tech and not just more of the same dumb Patriots?
That is an inefficient and costly use of force, well outside established doctrine and best practices intended to prevent exactly this outcome. Absent a compelling operational justification, it suggests either reckless or an intentional disregard for force protection.

Crude oil stockpiles in the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve have fallen below 300 million barrels, the lowest level in more than four decades, as global inventories stay under pressure due to the Iran war.
There's a real question of how low the SPR can go. The answer is definitely not "0". 70m barrels is the stated technical floor. But problems are expected to start around 250m and we may struggle to actually pull from it—at least at this current pace. We're already under 300m.
RBADVISERS: “.. Yet another inflation impulse. The US basically has NO STRATEGIC PETROLEUM RESERVE (SPR) anymore.”
Sotomayor's dissent quoting Trump's own immunity logic lands hardest: order Seal Team 6 to assassinate a rival, immune, organize a coup, immune, take a bribe for a pardon, immune. Roberts wrote that opinion himself and still calls it balls and strikes. A former clerk called the umpire talk a myth.

The pentagon is in a hot mess all because of one dysfunctional woefully unqualified person who championed an illegal war. Hegseth can’t persuade Republicans to back his big budget. Senators are leaving town no closer to enacting the crown jewel of the Defense secretary’s agenda.

Bessent bought Yen because he was seeking to prevent the Bank of Japan selling US Treasuries, thereby pushing up yields on longer-dated bonds and adding to America’s own fiscal challenges. Bessent intervened by selling euros rather than dollars to buy Yen, without informing the ECB.

So this is very disturbing. A Russian outlet known for publishing info for Russia’s security services (FSB) wrote an article speculating Patel’s upcoming visit to Moscow. Everything from providing kompromat on Dems to him serving as a back channel. They even discussed what they could get in return.
Iran issues extensive list of demands to reopen Hormuz: -End US blockade -US forces out of area -End sanctions -Unconditionally release all frozen Iranian assets -Pay war reparations Even as maximal position to be negotiated down, Iran being in this position highlights how badly Trump screwed up.
Trump is following Putin’s plan: destroy the USA. Every move he makes, from DOGE to tariffs to Iran, has quickly bled resources and throttled the economy. He does this with glee.
Seems relevant: Canada is creating jobs at a rate that is roughly 4x that in the United States.

Everything I see makes it looks like the longer this drags on, the more leverage Iran will have. Hegseth and Trump thought they could do this quickly and without getting deeply entangled, then they thought they’d grind Iran down. Turns out the war of attrition is favoring Iran.
