Excited to share our latest paper in @iscience.bsky.social! We used conditional mouse genetics to dissect the roles of two GPI-anchor biosynthesis genes, Piga and Pgap2, during brain development.

Rebekah Niewoehner, Rolf Stottmann & co found that pathogenic Ttc21b variants, the primary #cilia gene, contribute to primary #microcephaly, with homozygous #mouse mutants showing severe #microcephaly due to impaired neural progenitor proliferation and differentiation. Read doi.org/10.1242/dmm....
