When utilized in literature review, LLMs consistently 1. fail to mention female authors in female-led literatures, 2. insist that men are more influential or more heavily cited when this is contradicted by objective citation counts, and 3. attribute women’s work to hallucinated male scholars.

Little peer review induced mini rant inocming! I love Donna Haraway's work. I also read a lot of her texts. This is not always fun because Haraway has a notoriously dense and dynamic way of writing. So I had to read her texts more than once. As one should in academia to fully grasp a text. (1/3)

Employers should cover work-related travel and other expenses directly rather than require employees to float their employer an interest-free loan while subjecting them to a byzantine reimbursement process that will take at least a month and entail multiple rounds of paperwork.

I think we need an inverse thread where we talk about things that normal intelligent people universally agree upon that are for some reason hot takes within your profession

Can't wait for the near future where I will be misinformed by a customer service chatbot, misdiagnosed by a medical chatbot, misidentified by a face-recognition system and misrepresented by a legal chatbot.

By no means do I have a musical ear but I can't believe how bad the sound quality at Spotify is. Its basically just very flat. I switched to Deezer two months ago and its a whole new (better) world of listening to music.

Well, sound like a marvelous idea where nothing can go wrong! The city and its inhabitants will definitly profit from this surely well-informed AI push with improved infrastructures for health, eduation and business because who better to trust with sensitive data than Big Tech?
