This is beyond the pale. In fact, it’s appalling. It has been thoroughly reported that there were cuts at DHS Office of the Immigration Detention Ombudsman, which leaves DHS OIG, and any contractor “required” oversight, as the only palpable oversight. We cannot ever forget these terrible actions.

Of course, ICE will not actually operate these facilities; CoreCivic keeps the contracts to run these places for the foreseeable future.
