Love this one, Kristine!! "One afternoon, Emily and I see the episode about the ultra-Christian couple who’ve never kissed each other. We can’t get over how the girl could date this guy for three years and is ready to marry him without ever having kissed him. What if he sucks at kissing?"

The erasure project of TEEN QUEEN TRAINING, the newest book by Kristine Langley Mahler @suburbanprairie.bsky.social, transforms a 1960s etiquette guide for girls into a crackling, second-person narrative about what teenaged girls in America really experience. Check out my review in @hfr.bsky.social!

Please help us welcome new novel/novella readers Roy, Emma, and Tahniat, who will be joining our returning readers Rubén, Steven, Sarah, Patrick, Kameron, and Mwinji (and our fantastic editor jonah)--the whole team will be ready + waiting for your book manuscripts when submissions open on July 1st!

Really happy to have this conversation up in @adroitjournal.bsky.social in which I QUITE ELOQUENTLY define erasure source text as a nurse log, discuss the ethics of erasure, and admit TQT is not strictly nonfiction 😇https://theadroitjournal.org/2026/05/18/a-conversation-with-kristine-langley-mahler/
