But they seemed like such nice, patriotic, community-minded chaps. (Except the ones currently facing murder, child abuse & assault charges, obviously.)
Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.

When you’re so desperate to show you don’t agree with ‘people being cancelled because of woke’ that you repeatedly go into bat for a neo nazi
Badenoch represents double-down conservatism. Never apologise or moderate. Insult your opponents. Patronise journalists when challenged. Contradict yourself, lie, whatever it takes, but never back down. And that's how you end up creating an extremely avoidable Tory antisemitism scandal overnight
The modern Conservative Party, where Net Zero gets you out and Neo Nazism gets you in
The idea that *now*, when far right politics is on the rise, when we have openly racist MPs and whole political parties, is a good time to bring back a ‘former’ Neo-Nazi is a little special.
Starting in October under the Employment Rights Act 2025, employers face direct liability if third parties—patients, clients, customers—racially harass their staff and they fail to take all reasonable steps to prevent it. This applies to all protected characteristics. 👏 news.sky.com/story/nhs-st...

"random person who is going to be extremely famous for 5 minutes, in large part for being hot" has been a staple of latin american television for 50 years and we know enough to not trust them with serious jobs, relegating them to tv panels and national legislatures
Once again, I come back to the fact these guys have created a situation where one of the UK's leading, cis female athletes is scared to go to the loo alone, and the fact that they are celebrating this as a step forward for women's rights.

I recall we had a period of time where the response of Starmer and Cooper to concerns about these groups was ‘I like flags’

I find it weirdly punitive when I nick stuff from Boots all the time but suddenly I get arrested
But one thing I know from bringing up kids and managing business is that if you expect a rule to be conformed to then it has to be enforced. Speeding is largely not enforced, then suddenly enforced very harshly, then not enforced. It's weirdly punitive to most people.

The tone continues shifting: during today’s meeting of ambassadors, Spain received broad support from other EU countries, which highlighted how swiftly the Ceuta crisis was brought under control. Ambassadors stressed the need to properly apply EU migration rules and have reliable data.
This is an important letter from von der Leyen to counter the political narrative of recriminations and finger-pointing against Spain. She frames irregular migration as a challenge that “requires a common European response, united action and solidarity”. The 27 must stand together.
Two weeks before the recent influx of tens of thousands of Moroccans onto the territory of Spain—a NATO member—the US House passed a bill asserting for the first time that “Ceuta and Melilla are located in Moroccan territory” and allocating $20 million to Morocco. (www.congress.gov/119/crpt/hrp...)

At what point are DfE going to admit that Academies have been a disaster for children, and only good for shareholders and the pay packets of ambitious head teachers?
"Instead, far-right and MAGA politicians, influencers, and podcasters will immediately use the most divisive language possible in order to make voters as angry as possible, as fast as possible, regardless of what actually happened." One tragedy after another. That's all these monsters r capable of.

Immigration detention is failing women - over and over again - and the mounting evidence leaves no room for denial. The Government must act now. Failure to do so is acceptance of a system that causes harm. Read our op-ed with @aviddetention.bsky.social and @sdvisitors.bsky.social 11/11
Immigration detention is failing women – and the prison watchdog’s report leaves no room for denial
The HM Chief Inspector of Prisons' latest report confirms what women have been saying for years: immigration detention causes profound harm
leftfootforward.org
While we are pleased the report highlights a 'settled and positive culture' from staff, this does not change or improve what is an inherently harmful system. Detention causes huge and long-lasting harm. 10/🧵
Let us be clear: Derwentside - and all detention centres - should be shut down, for good and for everyone. But 2.5 years of indecision over the potential re-roling of Derwentside is harming women who are detained there. This is unacceptable. 9/🧵
