they should make an app that connects you with someone who’s already stopping at the gas station on the way home who can bring you a little treat

Thinking it might be nice to give someone a greeting card that doesn't express any particular sentiment. "Indifferent regards to you on this unremarkable occasion". On the card could be a picture of a log or a toaster

Dr. Fauci is a hero. He really is. He helped guide America thru a mass death event. Millions more could have died but they did not, thanks to him. Everyone over 70 owes him a debt. It is disgusting that we live in a country that not only dishonors him but actively smears his good name.

We chase what connects us digitally while taking for granted what connects us to survival itself. Trees are infrastructure. They're not optional. Plant native species where you can. Protect the forests that still stand. Value them before they're gone.

We see the sun as golden. Yet this is an optical illusion. In reality, our sun shines in pure white. Earth's atmosphere scatters the sunlight, coloring it gold to our eyes. That is why sunrises and sunsets appear so colorful. A small miracle of physics. A source of great wonder at nature.

Every tiny wingbeat helps keep our world alive. A single bee may seem small, but its impact reaches every garden, farm, and future generation. Choose kindness, protect nature, and stand up for the pollinators that feed the world. Every bee matters. 🐝

When I was a teenager, I played brass in youth bands that tackled adaptations of lovely music, like ". . . Appian Way." It instilled in me a familiarity that I have kept all the decades, and a love and appreciation. Our NPR classical station here is a real gem! #ColoradoPublicRadio

Included will be the incredible and magnificent "Pines of Rome", the last movement of which, "The Pines of the Appian Way", features as my favourite piece of music of all time!
