Big Tech uses the excuse of AI to make our lives more “efficient, convenient, and quicker.” But we do not need any of those to live a meaningful, loved, and beautiful life.
You have the right as a human being to make art. That includes art that is not perfect. That includes art that is not good.
there was the commissioning and then canceling of that Pride collection by queer and trans artists, then there was the DEI rollback, now it’s AI-driven false arrests. Target is setting land-speed records for torching customer goodwill, given how high their popularity and how far they had to fall
This is the only Harry Potter argument worth making It wouldn't matter if Harry Potter was a singular, unmatched work of genius. Giving Rowling money is actively making the world a worse place and killing trans folks. There's no book good enough or nostalgic enough for that to be worth it.
A Tea Walks Home Alone at Night@teaberryblue.net · 7mo agoThis is not a case of separating the art from the artist because the art DOES NOT MATTER. I do not care about whether or not it’s the greatest work ever written, you’re LITERALLY COMPLICIT IN HER CHILD-MURDERING AGENDA if you give her a penny.

USPS must be fought for and protected. If USPS goes away, or is made private, it will negatively impact EVERYONE. The USPS is a service and not a business. The cost for operating shouldn’t be seen as a business loss. Stand up for the USPS! 💌 CALL YOUR REPS 5calls.org

I’ve been photographing anti-ICE and related yard/window/tree/street signs around Minneapolis. The variety of commercial and especially handmade signs is amazing, as is the urge for people to let their neighbors know they care and are furious in ways big and small. Batch #5
worth remembering, David Lynch directed “fix your hearts or die” specifically at transphobes. it wasn’t a generic “no mean people allowed” statement, it was said by his Twin Peaks character in defense of a trans woman he cared for and deeply respected.
Posting again now that ECCC is happening.

Fun idea in today's annotation from @themountaingoats.bsky.social: "Sometimes I think poetry is what happens when a person imposes a vision he's had onto a time and place, when the imagination steps in to improve the conditions within which the author exists."
