I yearn for the day that I see: BREAKING: President Ocasio-Cortez projected to ban prediction markets by end of week. 97% chance.
I think one of the things that bothers me the most about the way Polymarket presents itself to the world is that it's adopted the language of journalism to make itself sound more legitimate. Like look at this post from yesterday morning incorrectly "projecting" the winner.
Did you just get THAT misleading text from the Republicans? If you believe that out of state billionaires have no place in Missouri politics, ignore them and sign a petition to defend your constitutional rights as soon as you can! Who listens to random texts anyways?
what the fuck is this headline
A teenager in Florida with a homeless parent wanted money for braces and ended up having sex for money with powerful men, setting off a chain of events that would have a dramatic impact on her life and help upend the political career of Representative Matt Gaetz. nyti.ms/49PSkL9
Great quotation from our chair @tah.bsky.social and other transit leaders in this article from The Beacon about transit challenges ahead of the World Cup in Kansas City next year. Bottom line: we don't fund transit enough. The region needs a better funding model: thebeaconnews.org/stories/2025...
As World Cup demands loom, transit leaders face hard decisions to pay for extra bus service
Kansas City has been asking the state and federal government for financial help to pay for extra buses during the World Cup. The clock is ticking, and the transit agency hasn’t gotten a dime.

Short piece from @rah.bsky.social that made conservatives in well-known parts of the Kansas City-region, like Tulsa or Wichita, have a melt down.
City Council candidate Rebeca Amezcua-Hogan wants to bring that kind of people-first politics to KC. | Opinion
KC friends & folks who like to build progressive momentum: It’s time to donate to @rah.bsky.social!
Hey if you are excited about @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and want to support other progressive candidates, it’s a great night to donate to @rah.bsky.social!
It’s not the biggest story of the night but shout out to @bradlander.bsky.social for what he did in the primary & after supporting @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social. Having a Jewish New Yorker stand up for & alongside with Zohran (not to mention immigrants in NYC) has been so inspiring.
Let’s celebrate by supporting our own progressive candidate here in KC! Donate to @rah.bsky.social ‘s campaign tonight! I put $20 in because I believe Rebeca will make a better KC that’s more affordable and cares for all its residents.

Big downside to today being the NYC mayoral is that there is no way @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social keeps up with this level of content creation after today.

the never ending Royals stadium conversation reminds me a lot of how I follow baseball: surprised it’s going on this long and mostly via headlines
BlueSky is generally enjoyable, but the lack of Kansas City critical user mass has really taken away from what I like about social media. I don’t want my social media to primarily be a feed of national dialogue! I want to discuss/complain about local things online.
So much of what Zohran’s campaign is doing comes down to behind the scenes hires and being willing to not follow normal rules of campaigning. Looking forward to the eventual post-victory pieces where they go more into depth regarding campaign decisions!

Kansas City Regional Transit Alliance Vice Chair Michael Kelley says the poll shows that people across the metro will support public transit if their local governments invest in it, especially at a time when the state and federal governments are pulling back transit funding.
Voters across the Kansas City metro support a sales tax for better bus service, new poll finds
A new poll from the Kansas City Regional Transit Alliance found that voters in four counties across the metro would support a regional sales tax dedicated to bus service, even as soon as next year.

🚨ADVOCACY ALERT!🚨 KCRTA polling shows majority voter support for transit funding across the Kansas City region! 🧵 1 of 4:
I’ve gotta assume this is it for Frank. This + results from the early vote out of eastern Jackson County should be it.
First batch of results from the Kansas City Election Board: YES 9199 (75%), NO 3011 (25%). There's no indication in the posting what percentage of the precincts are represented in those numbers. @kcur.org

This is the last step they take before they make Missouri right-to-work-for-less. (AGAIN!)
Damn…
whenever the bluesky version of election twitter does a partisan analysis of the new Missouri map, can someone share it?
In Kansas City, MO last night, well over 500 people gathered at IBEW Local 124 for an anti-gerrymandering rally. This is the largest union hall in hundreds of miles and it was standing room only. The only time this union hall has been more full in recent history was the anti-RTW-for-less fight.
