Fardon: "Executions are rare, and our lord does not wish to encourage undue bloodlust by having a single dedicated headsman. But at times like this, justice must be done... So his knights have a rota for this duty. It happens to be my turn."

Mermul: "It all seems... a bit too SOON. I know they tried to kill us all... But shouldn't the judgement have taken longer than THAT?"

Fardon: "Ideally, it SHOULD have. Taria isn't perfect, Mermul... Nor is Lord Varl."

Xerian: "So what does that leave...?"
Lautrec: "You won't like it, but the one SURE way to stop the invasion... is to scuttle the ship."

Lautrec: "We blow up the power plant, trigger a self-destruct mechanism, whatever. Destroying the ship will kill everyone aboard it - the Emperor, his mooks, the folks in stasis and us too, unless we can beam to the surface or steal an escape pod first or something."

Lautrec: "I don't like it, but it IS an option. It WOULD save our worlds and the people on them... a noble sacrifice for the greater good."

Xerian: "...What if we DISABLE the ship? Take out the power plants? A hard shutdown of all the energy systems?"

Xerian: "So the ship stays intact, but nothing WORKS. No power, no invasion, right? I don't know how he intends to do it, but a bit energy weapon won't work. If he means to send down troops, he won't be able to do THAT either!"
