Would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the interaction between leftism and avant-garde filmmaking It dives really deep into the films of Toshio Matsumoto in particular. He had a really fascinating idea of how documentary can and should function as an antifascist political tool

I'm generally distrustful when I hear some technology is "disrupting power structures", because it's often just disrupting the apparatus of power rather than the power itself, giving it a sharper, more dangerous apparatus.
