Just another dipshit from Chicago. Bits and jokes and jokes and bits. Photos, sometimes acting, mostly nonsense. Banner image thanks to @chgohoods.bsky.social
The way both arguably capable opponents hypersonically faceplanted against El-Sayer is kind of startling.
I was just talking about Service Merchandise two days ago and it is one of those things I can't even imagine trying to explain to someone even like 10 years younger than me.
[grabs microphone] SERVICE MERCHANDISE
What is the earliest memory you have of a big company ceasing to be a part of your immediate world. Mine is Montgomery Ward. I vaguely recall their catalogs. The local store held on longer than I realized, but it had faded from my general awareness years earlier. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...
I 110% reacted with “huh, I wonder why I haven’t heard of this before.”
like I hate to be the “why is this news”person but this is the median outcome for every Rocky production in recorded history
Currently experiencing levels of “who among us” I didn’t know were medically possible
in insane local news, the 26 year old director of a rocky horror production was arrested for sending threatening messages to himself in order to get the play shut down bc he didn’t want to deal with cast drama www.mynbc5.com/article/rock...
I don’t know what to expect and that’s the way I goddamn like it
In one week,
@haymaker.bsky.social Oh, jeez, I just realized I didn’t name the photos for your show “yo ho_26-###,” I typed “you” on accident.
What a trash take. As a Chicago taxpayer, I'd rather 'take the hit' funding programs that help my neighbors put food on the table than keep paying nine-figure police misconduct settlements (we're up to $225 million so far in 2026)
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
And an update on “Tom’s halfassed chirping about running a quixotic aldermanic campaign,” The Lady of the House (frustratingly sensible as usual) objected to the idea, saying I get unhinged when I *suspect* people don’t like me enough.
I have become more powerful (read, “esoteric”) than you can possibly imagine.
Harrison Ford, the actor behind loveable scoundrels Han Solo and Indiana Jones, started his career as an on-set carpenter. That makes him a roguelike deckbuilder.
MANDY PATINKIN: “In Gowron’s eyes, with honor / this house seemed to be / and I the great cha’DIch became / my chancellor was he!”
i’m just saying, we might be writing songs like GOWRON’S EYES and BIRDS OF PREY
John Quincy Adama? So say we all!
500 billion dollars and the robot can't even count to twelve
I should know by now that a Home Depot employee does not give a flying fuck at a rolling donut about CIELAB color data.
Internal Monologue: “Oh, shit, I had planned for the $5 And Bits of Broken Chair Trophy to be in between… welp, guess we gotta stick to the script…”
Matt Rhule acknowledges expectations:“I didn’t come to Nebraska to go 7-6, we came to compete for this” (gestures to the CFP Trophy)
I promise that I’ll go back to bits and jokes about college football and other ephemera, but this paragraph is a good summation of what 106 does, at the very least. And it’s berserk that anyone acting in good faith would want to gut it
TODAY IN DO YOU LIKE ARCHAEOLOGY, HISTORIC SITES, AND COOL LANDSCAPES: The ACHP voted to move forward with gutting Section 106. 106 asks that projects with even a single dollar for federal funding take into consideration how a project impacts cultural sites and try to minimize or mitigate.
Previously owned by a timber company, the land had been heavily logged for decades, belying its importance as salmon and other wildlife habitat. The Tribe is already practicing restoration forestry to heal a century of logging and has set aside about 15,000 acres as a salmon sanctuary. 30/
Huge swath of Northern California to be preserved in land transfer to tribe
The Northern California land surrounding a vital tributary of the Klamath River was once heavily logged. Now it will go to the Yurok Tribe for restoration.

I misread a license plate that said “ALS YOTA” and said out loud, “Consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth, I do.” So I’m a bad person AND can’t read.
It’s in there.
I wrote about 100 games that brought college football to its current state, from Grantland Rice's poetry, to offensive innovations, to postseason controversies, to all-time upsets, to television spectacles, to realignment, to the epic endings that keep us coming back. www.espn.com/college-foot...
Oh no
Just letting everyone know there's a crazy-ass sale at Fanatics, including Mitchell & Ness Knicks championship jerseys for like 60% off. Not a sponsored post. Bought a bunch of shit for Kat on spec because it was $4 marked down from ~$150. Will donate to @kapowworks.bsky.social if they're hideous.
The last two weeks have been (predominantly) putting this together for Vandercook's Big Announcement. It's exciting news, and also, I need a nap. vimeo.com/1212892193?f...
