AN AFFRONT TO GOD and i’m sick of reading news articles lightly discussing the practical benefits of affronting god
I don't use this word lightly, but this is evil.
Honestly next time you pack for a show, imagine your whole setup being in a landfill, that's where it will all likely be eventually. I'm not fearmongering or trying to upset anyone but I do need people to think of the entire lifecycle of the stuff they put out in the world
They need the world to be as ugly and absent of possibility as their lives, their souls. They need everything to be a mirror, and the only truly trustworthy mirror for what is inside them is a pile of broken bodies, a mound of dust and sand, a rubble strewn field
Beauty is not in and of itself resistance and there are fascistic and police modes of beauty, but any beauty that falls outside the profitable, the ordained, the dominant is an affront to them, a fearful sign of a world without them
The goal of the US and Israel is to reduce all blooms to desert
I wrote about my time in Minneapolis last week, about what is involved in creating bottom-up, decentralized networks of care. margaretkilljoy.substack.com/p/our-neighb...
The Boundary Waters, one of the largest wilderness areas left in the US, is at risk! The House could vote to overturn a ban on polluting sulfide-ore mining at the headwaters TODAY, setting a precedent for extraction on other public lands. Contact your reps right now and ask them to vote NO on HJ140!

Protests, mass meetups, conferences—a youth-led movement is reclaiming the Luddite mantle, rejecting a future dominated by Silicon Valley companies, toxic apps, and generative AI. This fall, a "Luddite renaissance" is in full swing. www.bloodinthemachine.com/p/the-luddit...

Would they be able to get away with all this if we didnt have to go to work? Do work, rent and bills only exist to produce profit, or is it just as importantly a function of social pacification, punishment and control? Is the economy just about money, or is it also about power?
got a new batch of fabriano recently and it’s changed again — much thinner/floppier, different texture on both sides, and now the watermark is stamped backwards? anyone know what the “right” side is supposed to be now before i ruin a bunch of paintings?
