A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.
If you're boycotting the US so that the American people suffer, rather than to pressure the government and large corporations into changing the political path we're on, you're doing sadism, not activism.
International boycotts of US goods doesn't mean individual Americans should stop trying to make ends meet actually.

Think about what daily, hourly chaos does to the ability to make *any* kind of plan for the future, shrinking time horizons that have already been shortened by existing marginalizations The people most affected by that chaos, are the ones who are already trapped in an eternal present.
I am holding on tightly to these words because this week has felt like a year. The moment demands the wisdom of ancestors.

I like to sew. The first step is cutting out the pieces of fabric. Alone, each one is just a useless scrap. But when stitched together, they create something really cool, or helpful, or beautiful, or all of the above. All of us are “cut out” for it…But we can only do it together.

What top Democrats have spent the last eight years trying to restore can't be restored. It's been broken irreparably, and it's been repudiated by voters. What progressives—leftists, liberals, Democrats, whoever—need to do now is articulate a vision of the next thing, and start making it real.
