Every time I spot an author using the wrong word but spelled correctly so that the spell check didn't catch it, I feel like John Henry asserting my dominance over the machines

For perspective, we could give each homeless person in the US two houses and we wouldn't run out of vacant homes in Florida alone. There are only 700,000 homeless in the US and this is a problem we could very easily and very quickly fix for less money than we spend each month on this Iran war.

This may be true of others but I actually got express permission from the trans community to keep NYT games and recipes. I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.

Can't even fathom the amounts of money and success St. Louis would have if the greater metro area wasn't more than 100 separate municipalities (some so small they are only a single neighborhood) all with their own budgets, police forces, taxes, etc. The scale of waste is truly absurd.
