WARHOUND changed my life before I even read it. The community around it reshaped my life already. Now I've I read it and it feelt like that was the missing piece for my change. I would not be the woman I have become over the past few months without it. And I love the woman I have become.

As of tonight, WARHOUND Volume One has sold 5000 copies!!!! Which is a completely, unreasonably fantastic milestone that I truly never expected to hit. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I'm grateful beyond words to anyone who's ever picked up a copy (or encourages others to do the same) ❤️

Absolutely absurd, the best games of all time came out at the precise age I was financially independent enough to buy multiple but before I became too busy to devote as much time to games (Seriously though lots of old games only hold up through nostalgia goggles.)

43% of nonunion workers say they would vote to unionize if they could. “It’s high time lawmakers translate the public’s near-record support for unions into policy.” @hshierholz.bsky.social on why the PRO Act and rebuilding union power belong at the center of the affordability debate.

Affordability's Key Ingredient Is Union Power

Tripling union membership would raise wages, reduce inequality and strengthen communities. Policymakers should take note.

Not only this, but the workers who are building the game know when it's fun or not VERY early into building it, but it often takes ages (and sometimes never happens) for leadership to pivot if what they originally thought up wasn't fun.

many mid (or worse) video game scripts are that way because either a) there was too much conflicting feedback from stakeholders; b) late design pivots meant the team had to reshuffle what they had and live with the results

If you do union casework even for a little bit, you learn very quickly that laws do not stop people in power from doing illegal things. The only way to limit the worst of what they are willing to do is to build up enough worker power that they fear it more than they want to do illegal stuff.

i should figure out what to have for dinner... *takes a shower* oh yeah, i should have some dinner *goes looking for a specific piece of lego* doh! dinner *posts about it*

Can I get a num lock lock, please? So I stop accidentally hitting num lock and then wondering why weird shit happens when I try to type numbers?

I'm willing to die on the hill of QA are some of the MOST important people in game dev, and often the most overlooked. There are no "lazy" QA. There are no "just push it to prod" QA. There are no "don't even bother checking" QA. There are massively overworked, underappreciated and understaffed QA.

In game dev the most satisfying praise you'll get isn't going to come from your lead or director It'll come from a member of your QA team

Big stressful travel plans next week but if I stress about them more now then that means I have less stress next week... right? ...right?

Lots of great stuff in here (and philosophers being cited!) I particularly enjoyed the distinction between liberation and representation

i forgot that existing as a woman with a camera means random dudes will try to talk to you i did the classic autistic thing of shutting him down without even meaning to him: "that's a nice building to take pictures of" me: "not really it's just there" didn't even turn to look at him
