"The test is currently generating results at an 88 per cent accuracy rate — something the company hopes to improve upon throughout the study. Breathe BioMedical is also working with Horizon Health Network and the IWK in Halifax to bring study sites online at their locations as well."

#NewBrunswick #Canada #Science This is a huge discovery. Moncton-based company Breathe BioMedical has developed a test that can detect signs of breast cancer by analyzing breath samples in women of all breast density types. globalnews.ca/news/1200880...

Ohio Rep. Max Miller stands accused of abusing both his daughter and his ex-wife, and no Republican can be bothered to care about it. Preznit Fuckwit even took his side! thank you for your attention to today's post, in which I explain just how much the GOP fucking sucks. link is here: bit.ly/4fEDGZV

the entire Republican Party has lost its way. morally and ethically, they’ve shit the bed, and now they’re rolling around in the mess.

there is no bottom to their depraved barrel. they’re totally fine with needy families being thrown off public assistance. they’re totes cool with masked and armed federal thugs roaming the streets of our cities, murdering anyone who looks at them funny. they have no problem with immigrants being disappeared into slave-labor gulags, or with Venezuelan fisherman and Iranian schoolgirls being bombed to kingdom come.

Republicans are down with all of that shit, so should we really be surprised that they can’t be bothered to care about domestic abuse?

each and every one of them, they all fucking suck.

It really is amazing how often the air conditioning fails on Halifax Transit. I've heard we've contracted the air conditioning out to another company. But I haven't confirmed that info.

I was once one of the few non-target women in a dept where a guy like this worked - I’d been warned & wasn’t polite to him, so he couldn’t get any warm fuzzies. (We’ve both long since left.) It was awful working somewhere that let a creepy old dude prey on every female trainee who came in the door.

This is such complete and utter bullshit on the part of Thom Tillis and John Cornyn. Giving the Trump crime family immunity from tax audits remains as corrupt as anything we’ve ever seen in this country. Todd Blanche should be impeached, not confirmed.

JUST IN: Tillis confirms he is on board with Cornyn to vote yes on Blanche for AG, after Blanche renounces Anti-Weaponization Fund in writing & asserts that the waiver of any past taxes due is limited to POTUS, Don Jr., Eric & Trump Org. Earlier: www.politico.com/news/2026/08...

ICYMI: We have to stop dividing our problems into “left & right" & start seeing our problems like “top vs bottom.” 977 U.S. billionaires have a combined wealth of 9.2 trillion & they funneled it out of the middle class. Then they keep us fighting with each other while they steal more.

The propaganda of political division gives the illusion that it’s possible to punish the opposite party and not your own. As if there are two Americas and we can target our enemies to hurt only them. It’s a damn shame it will take Trump hurting all of America for some to find out we were never separate groups in the first place. Quote by Melissa Nadia Viviana

But guys... you don't have to give up your addiction to rage. Just turn it towards things that actually deserve it: like billionaires, techno-fascists, and data centers! Then we can all be angry together!

"Tammy Wohler, managing lawyer with NS Legal Aid's social justice office, says she has never seen waits this long in her 10 years working w/ tenants... She added that creating an enforcement unit would benefit the program and prevent many disputes from needing a hearing in the first place."

Nova Scotia renters, landlords face 3-month wait to resolve tenancy disputes | CBC News

Tenants and landlords looking to resolve disputes through Nova Scotia's residential tenancies program could be waiting until October or early November for a hearing.

When are we going to start jailing people for this? Or even charging effective fines? I know Halifax considered licensing landlords. NS decided not to fund any kind of enforcement sector for residential tenancies. All of this would have immense public support.

Look, even though I like Bluesky a lot, there are a fair number of bad faith, negative, and sketchy accounts here too. But if you’re interested in inspiring posts about cities and how they can be better, there are a lot of great accounts here. My first starter pack has a lot of them. Check it out.

Has anyone in Halifax dealt with an estate liquidator or have any recommendations for someone who can evaluate pieces not wanted by the family for value?
