In short, there are valuable lessons we can learn about drones & interceptors & magazine depth & mine-sweepers, etc. But the key lesson is: no amount of tactical excellence can salvage strategic incompetence. Who lost the Iran War? The American voter did, that damn fool. And he ought to feel it.

I don't know. I see the people who are the most vocal are the ones who are going through the deepest grief because they cared the most about their very personal, very minute approach to their craft and I feel their grief because it is mine, too. I just started earlier. It's legitimate and necessary.
