as a registered purple midwest state voter, i do prefer DSA-aligned candidates like AES and francesca. however, i am haunted by 2022 where a decisive number of voters either voted for both tony evers and ron johnson (🤮) or voted evers and did not cast a senate vote....

i mean, 40 years ago green bay, wi didn't even have a taco bell. now, i walk two blocks from my brother's house to a fantastic carniceria and place my order for quesabirria en español. that is mathematically an infinite improvement...

Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

air travel is one of those experiences that has gotten monotonically worse over my entire lifetime

question though: has *anything* in the last 40+ years genuinely gotten *better*?

like, there's *more* stuff, sure, but is any of it *better*?

“We should return to an older and more accurate name for the Civil War: the Slaveholders’ Rebellion. If a country unquestioningly adopts language that obscures its bloodiest crimes to absolve their worst perpetrators, how can we expect successive generations to remember the new assaults on democracy

Opinion | The ‘Civil War’ Is a Lie. Let’s Call It the ‘Slaveholders’ Rebellion’ Again. (Gift Article)

To face our own history, we must be honest about it.

One of the things you get from watching tributes to Glen Hansard is that he was a musician’s musician. His peers really respected him. But also he was so kind to random people. And that seems sort of perfect. To be respected both by the people who deeply understand what you do and those who don’t.

TikTok has incredible moderation team. Our InfoWars video about Multiple Horse Theory — the idea that there are many horses in the world and not just one — has been fully deemed misinformation and lost the formal appeals process. Confirmed by Larry Ellison: There is only one horse on Earth.

definitely click through to the article for the full context. this happened at the campground we stayed at a few weeks ago. i saw a lot of people do really dumb things around bison, but this really looks like combo of wrong place, wrong time, wrong bison.

A tourist was seriously injured after being thrown 8 feet into the air by a bull bison in Yellowstone National Park. Professional photographer Mike Macleod filmed the incident.

remember, be careful what you post on a day like this. If you do it right, you can get illegally fired for being disrespectful to Lindsay Graham and then win a massive lawsuit about 10 months from now and retire with 2 million in your pocket

You have a moral obligation to speak ill of Lindsay Graham and to celebrate his death. Failing to do so now assists in them gaslighting all of us into pretending he was a good person. He was not. All of our lives are worse because of him. Dance the earth flat on his grave. Deny the lies.

there is a whooooole market ecosystem for solar panels and battery systems to plug them into. you can pretty much go nuts in terms of collection wattage and storage, but pushing back to grid is problematic. as long as you're set up to use grid as backup, just like any rv, you're fine.

"there’s an entire industry that sells u a couple of solar panels and an inverter. The energy u capture goes into ur household power. U can put the solar panels in a yard, roof, anywhere that gets sunshine. It also works for renters and apartment dwellers. When u move, u take the system withu."
