A red flame in Barad-dûr, based on the conversation in the most recent shelved by genre episode. I wanted the city to look both industrial and unsettling, so I tried to use a real mix of building styles, and avoid too many curves/natural shapes.

A scan of a pen and ink drawing of Barad-dûr, inspired by the conversation in the most recent shelved by genre episode. It shows the moment when Frodo, on Mount Doom, looks towards Barad-dûr and as the clouds part sees a red flame in the highest tower, the only image of Sauron the books give us. The drawing depicts barad-dûr in dense, hatched pen, full of narrow, crowded streets and industrial buildings, shrouded in darkness and cloud. A red pen has been used to mark the flame, the only colour in the drawing.

Hey, so my good friend and I are developing a visual novel together. If you like my art then, hey, this is gonna be a lot of that! I'll be sharing some concept art and screenshots as we continue development. Please check it out!

Welcome to Big Wheel One, where the 309th Drive is soon to start. As the race spans an entire lap of the wheel, take pit stops. Hang out with your crew. Meet the locals.

A little rusty cantina sits under a cliff along the road through the desert. In the background one can see that this desert is inside of a massive halo-like superstructure in orbit of a gas giant.

I spent the last hour playing King of Dragon Pass, by which of course I mean I spent the last hour reading the manual for King of Dragon Pass and taking notes. This is gaming.

The Conservatory is a really excellent little storytelling game we used for world building in a campaign I'm currently in, check it out! (I'm a little biased because I drew that weird house there but trust me.)

NEW IN: The Conservatory by @devindecibel.bsky.social A tarot-driven solo+ storytelling RPG detailing the history and exploits of an oft-criticized, notorious magical institution. How did they come to be? What strange/wonderful/terrible influence have they wrought? And where are they headed next?

The cover of The Conservatory by Devin Nelson. Two figures climbing a distorted spiral staircase. The figure higher on the stairs shines a flashlight on the figure lower on the stairs, who is wearing a featureless mask. The curved wall shows a variety of shadowy framed photos

I come hat in hand with a humble request...if you are so inclined, I would love if you could make an NPC for my game! There is no deadline and I'll take anything you throw at me, feel free to reply with any submissions!

Psychically I've really been in "thrashing and gnawing at the bars of my cage" mode recently which my therapist assures me is a sign of progress. Someday they should invent a way to get mentally healthy that doesn't involve feeling insane.

Meant to work on more important stuff but spent the last hour or so updating this through today (chapter 412) instead. The latest two chapters are on their own tab. I just can't resist the siren call of Even More Characters and Hidden Motives.

For anyone interested in following along with the latest arc of the #hunterxhunter manga (Chapters 358-410+) but feeling a little overwhelmed by the scope, earlier I shared by Succession War Visual Guide - a spoiler-safe reading companion for tracking characters and alliances: tiny.cc/x5go001

I always enjoy Evan's thoughts on comics and of course have a lot of personal nostalgia for rice boy, but this essay is also a great wide-ranging look at the human creative process and what that means in the current day. Well worth a watch!

over 1000 views on this thing which is not a whole lot but i think is a pretty enormous amount for a person talking about anything in independent comics lol thank u for your interest in this stuff www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ytyq...

it's just that whenever people talk as if the impact of lukewarm fandom discourse on my daily life could possibly outweigh the impact of 100,000 people each giving me 10 dollars, i can only roll my eyes at best. let's be honest with each other here

Final day of Pride Month. Much love to all my family and given the news I must reiterate that we can never leave behind our trans siblings and to do so is to kill ourselves

These decisions will be overturned eventually. Trans people will continue to exist, good people will fight in solidarity, and that will to survive is stronger than their hate. But God, the sheer evil and suffering these ghouls will force people through to get there is unconscionable. Rot in hell.

yes of course videogames are art but being "art" does not entitle you to respect (which is what most games discourse has historically been demanding when they ask that question). if your art *primarily* exists to move product then it's probably not going to be very interesting.
