i hate genAI so much but what i'm not gonna do is accuse authors of using it in public because everyone overestimates their ability to detect it. just quit reading the thing if you think it's AI rather than start a potential controversy over processes you do not understand.

PSA: the graphic designer behind Plott Hound's issues/a family member of mine and I got news that my great-aunt has stage IV cancer, so that will slightly delay our work in putting Issue 6 together. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Plan for my next big international trip in 2027 is Iceland. Looking into pronunciation guides so I can at least say the names of cities and landmarks correctly. Icelandic ð looks like someone grabbed and snapped the spine of Vietnamese đ.

I'm excited to be hosting 2 meetups and a panel at Denfur: Friday Colorado Springs Furry Meetup 3:30-4:30 PM From the Editor's Desk: How to Publish Furry Short Fiction 6:30-7:30 PM Saturday Medical Fur Meetup 4-5 PM I'll bring stickers! Hope to see you there.

Reading 1 and 2-star reviews of books by my favorite authors actually feels kind of cathartic. Creative work is subjective and not everyone is going to love it, and that's ok. People are allowed to have opinions. Opinions of that opinion are fine, too.

We have decided to remove a short story from Issue 153 of Apex Magazine. After meeting with our reading and editorial teams, we'd like to share with you what happened, and importantly, how we plan to move forward from here. Thank you for sticking with us. 💜👽

My OR colleagues look at me like I lost my marbles whenever I have to answer with a number or yes/no and I reply in Russian or Finnish before English. The things you do for language learning. (Seitsemän is my favorite number to say)

I guess it's because I'm not a normie, but I don't understand why dressing up in cosplay, as a Disney or sports mascot is considered cute and fun, but a furry dressing up as a character of their own creation is considered cringe.

I will be at Anthrocon this year! I was too late to register for official writing-related con panels or meetups, but I still want to hold a casual, unofficial Plott Hound meetup for anyone connected with or has interest in the magazine. Details of meetup in reply below:

Travelling to Finland this May was the closest I've ever been to Russia (and given the dumpster fire state of things, the closest I'll be in a long time). Helsinki is only 188 miles from St. Petersburg (for reference, that's shorter than the distance between Houston and Dallas).
