As ever, this is another well researched and level headed piece delivered with just the right amount of humor we've come to expect from Alanah. If you wanna know what's going on in video game land, you should watch her stuff.

This took me several weeks to make because I went through several years worth of corporate/investor/earnings reports but... here it is! The actual, long-term reason Sony killed physical discs, and why they can't go back. youtu.be/_Znc7MVsSlg?...

It’s nice to see everyone’s textual analysis of The Odyssey It’s almost like the humanities give you entertainment, feelings, pleasure, and fun/interesting stuff to talk about, as well as lenses into both past and current society

Been wondering these days about running a solo game of Wanderhome for myself, with the twist being that I build the story through reading tarot. A bit of a homebrew on its limited rules. My only problem is finding the time. Even with a play group of one, the ttrpg meme persists.

PAX has always given life to Sprites and Dice. It's where we've recharged and drawn inspiration from as we meet all kinds of people and play their games. This is disheartening news. If you're reading this and want to give PAX a piece of your mind, please contact them: paxquestions@reedexpo.com

With the nightmares for QTBIPOC in the United States right now, it is so so telling that @officialpax.bsky.social has decided that 2026 is the year to cut support and funding for The PAX Intersection & its PTI programs that made a PAX safer & life changing event for devs & attendees of color alike.

Been a while since I've done a #tarot card here, so why not talk about how I'm feeling these days. Art (in Thoth), or Temperance in the WS deck, is all about alchemical balance. It's a card about holding opposites and ultimately combining them. This can be a very difficult thing to do bc...

The thoth tarot Art card, major arcana #14. It depicts a figure with two faces, one light and one dark, pouring fire and water into a golden pot. To either side are beasts watching, a white lion and a red eagle. The figure is dressed in green and a golden oval shines behind them.

Crunch-focused folk want new supplements, to give them more subsystems they can theorycraft on but never use. Storygames folk want new systems, to give them more genres they will turn into girlfailure yuri comedies. OSR folk want new adventures, to give them more rooms they will never dare enter.

A fantastic video I've just finished watching myself. PMG have always made incredible documentaries and this is no different. In fact, in their own words, this is even a step up from what you've seen in the past. A worthwhile watch!

People Make Games traveled to Michigan to meet Jerry Gretzinger, an 84-year-old man, who's spent most of his life working away on a single, giant map to an imaginary world. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is8N...

Ok so here's an odd question for any #ttrpg folks here who also read #tarot fluently. I know that there are game systems out there which play by using actual tarot decks. I've always been curious about these systems. Anyone have any recommendations on good ones?
