The major leaks occurred due to the quantity & speed of the rain falling, which overwhelmed our drain spouts, causing water to pool on the flat part of our roof, under which the leaking occurred. Roofers will be here tomorrow for estimates / repairs.
Though there were some major leaks in a couple spots of our store from the severe weather over the weekend, we fortunately only had 26 books damaged & sone water soaked carpet. Phew!

With humidity, it feels like 108°f & 3200 Penguin Classics are currently being carried through the courtyard & up 2 flights of stairs to be processed then shelved for our lovely customers. It's worth it, right? Right?!

It's going to be a harsh week with temps dangerous for many in our communities. If you're a commuter to downtown or anywhere there are homeless, consider carrying bottled water that can be given to those who are out & about. It won't solve the greater problems but can still save a life
